First Impression

Daniel discussed the importance of creating a great first impression. He recommended a book titled "How to Get Someone to Like You in Under 90 Seconds" by Nicholas Boothman as an excellent read. The book focused on the initial 15 seconds of meeting someone and emphasised the significance of making the first eye contact, smiling, and introducing oneself.

Daniel encouraged being proactive in initiating eye contact, moving towards the person they were meeting instead of staying behind a desk, and always being the first to smile and introduce oneself. He stressed the value of remembering people's names and provided a technique involving associating names with mental images.

Additionally, Daniel mentioned the power of using open-ended questions to engage in conversation and the importance of delivering an elevator pitch effectively. He highlighted that customers began to judge a brand's overall experience from the moment they arrived, so it was crucial for salespeople to maintain a clean and organised environment to instil confidence in potential buyers.

Daniel also mentioned the significance of excellent customer service and cited examples of high-level executive assistants who excelled in service orientation. Finally, he emphasised the need to start a conversation with a brief, high-level overview before delving into specific details to ensure that the information was absorbed effectively.
